Christmas Ride blog event

Spend the Holiday in the Garden.

You've been into the basement for the 6 foot artificial tree or into the lots to find the perfect evergreen to grace the front room picture window. Lights on the tree and more on the house. Set up the miniature Christmas village with all the trimmings, angels on the mantle, Santa and snowmen on the shelf, you've decorated with the works. Baking holiday treats, sipping hot cocoa, apple cider, and cinnamon lattes. Send Christmas cards, find time to enjoy your family. And finally, when you've spread holiday cheer until your ready to run over the shoppers with your car, it's time to take a moment for yourself.

So after a long day, and a long holiday season that is crazy while you're planning, but when all is said and done, is over much to quick, it's time to steal a few precious moments and cuddle up with a romance story.

The Wild Rose Press has a wonderful selection of Holiday stories. Visit www.TheWildRosePress.com

Now for a chance to win a 6.00 gift certificate to the Wild Rose Press, tell me your favorite holiday flower or your favorite holiday treat. Christmas Rose, pointesttia, or orchid. Sugar cookies, nut fudge, or candy canes.

And to spread more Christmas cheer, the participants of the Christmas Ride blog event are giving one lucky person a $75 Wild Rose Press gift certificate! All you need to do to enter is attend each day's blog post, identify the carol, and make a complete carol list to submit after the final blog post of Christmas Eve. Don't forget to check the list twice! Send it to Christmasrideblog@live.com by midnight, CST Dec. 31st 2008!

Here is your hint for the Wild Rose Press selected Christmas song--

See the candy fairies, sugar-plums, jelly-beans, chocolate bars, Dance the minuet,
With the candied cherries, lolly-pops, peppermints, candy-canes, As they pirouette, See the Fairy Princess curtsying, gracefully, beautifully, Swaying to the tune...
Music in the air , so entrancing..
Flowers in her hair as she's dancing..
Love is everywhere..
Ah-h-h-h-h-h-h-h..
'Neath the yellow lemon-drop moon.
There she goes now, on her toes now,
To her yellow lemon-drop moon.

And tomorrow on the next stop on the Christmas Ride blog event, go to http://michelehart.blogspot.com/.

Don't forget to leave a comment to enter a drawing from a 6.00 Wild Rose Press gift ceritficate, and collect the Holiday song for a chance at the grand prize.

My favorite holiday treat is eggnog. This is my season to splurge on it since I am sensitive to both eggs and dairy so avoid them most of the year and adore eggnog. Had an eggnog shake at Mickey D's the other night. yum. I can't decorate 'cause my apt is microscopic and my cat chews on the few small things I have out. She loves chewing my 2 ft fiber optic tree. One reason I am moving is I miss decorating for holidays.

You gave more than a clue you almost gave the whole song. Some call it the "Nutcracker" and some Call it the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy."

I'm a sugar cookie kind of gal. Simple, sweet...all good.

My favorite Holiday Treat is Fudge. Since I cannot make it right to save my life, we wisely invest in Eagle Brand's fudge and make it as a family. I am getting so hungry for it right now. A trip to the store may be necessary right now.

The Christmas song is Nutcracker. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

This year, it's Jello cookies!!! Who would have thought to mix a pack of Jello into super buttery sugar cookie dough? Then sprinkle some on the top of each cookie... PERFECTION. Shoot me now before my jeans explode. :( I swear I'm not making another batch! I SWEAR IT!

I like those kind of cookies that are made of some kind of flaky dough and are triangles and have ground up nuts inside.

My favorite Chrismas flower is from the Christmas Cactus.... my friend gave me one years ago.. it has been lush with green leaves, but never a flower. boo hoo... and hers would bloom in profusion every year. I even left it at her house one year to try to "trick" it to bloom, lol.

One of my favourite things about the holiday is the goodies. I bake for about two months just so I have enough for the parties and extras for my husband and girls to eat. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be shortbread cookies followed closely by pumpkin pie.

Thesong is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Now I'm really hungry. Where's those goodies? :)

Hands down Hot Chocolate is my favorite holiday treat! Yummmmm.

And the Christmas song is the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker. Oh, what childhood memories that brings back of watching my cousins dance in the Houston Ballet.

Merry, merry, Teri

My favorite flower are White and Red poinsettias. Rumballs are my favorite treats for this time of year.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is the answer. Such fun.

Ruth C. said...

I didn't think we were to post the answer here -- could be mistaken.

I believe the instructions were to collect all the names of the carols and then send them in.

Anyhow, my favorite Christmas flower is the Christmas cactus -- favorite drink is eggnog -- had a FANTASTIC recipe for it , but lost it about 20 years ago - still miss that eggnog - was the best ever.!!

Favorite goodie ---- ALL OF THEM.!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like kiffles (some people call them kolaches and there are other names for them also.

Just in case we were to post the answer here, it is The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

My favorite flower is still an old-fashioned, fragrant rose. As for Christmas food, that would be eggnog, but it's best with something extra, like a splash of brandy. No holiday is complete without its proper libation.

What do you want? I'm not Russian for nothing!

My favorite Christmas flower is the Chruistmas Cactus. Your song is The Nutcracker. Happy Holidsys!

Blessings,

I love a good Christmas cactus. I have many favorite Christmas cookies, including kolachies, pfefferneuse and of course, fancifully decorated sugar cookies.

Ruth, it is true that we need to send the carols in one big list to the final contest email address, but we have also been instructed on most of the blogs to put the carol in our comment, sometimes for a separate prize.

The carol today is, of course, The Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy from the ballet "The Nutcracker".

Jennifer C. said...

Eggnog is so delicious. That's my fave. The Christmas cactus is my favorite flower, even though it bloomed in the summer.

The song is the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

I love the red and white varigated carnations. I love eggnog and hot chocolate. And any of the goodies. I enjoy taking a day to spend making them with my grandkids. Skhye is that just the dry jello mix that you stir in? Sounds good.

lindseye said...

I love peppermint bark and eggnog which usually are only around this time of year. Candy canes are too much work and fudge is usually to dense. Cookies are always good.

Skhye said...

Yes, Phyllis. I will use Jello mix for sprinkles from here on out. Unless the cookie just won't taste right with something fruity on top! ;)

Geez, I'm all mixed up on where to start. Thought we were starting on someone else's blog and I'm all out of order. Christmas confusion has already set it. :-p

This song is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. A classic and one that I know from the 3 years that I've paid for my daughter to take ballet. This year we are trying piano. LOL

I love homemade peanut butter balls or divinity. Yummy!
