Stuff To Do In Dallas

Who's excited about RWA National Conference? Weeee! I know a lot of the WRP authors are going and I can't wait to see you there!

And in case you're worried that the workshops, lunches, events, receptions, etc, etc, etc, won't keep you busy enough, my helpful coworker, who used to live in Dallas, sent me a list of stuff to do:

Dining / Clubs:

West End Marketplace: Walking distance from the Hyatt with a number of clubs, music halls, and shopping.

Deep Elm: Similar to West End but more local oriented and more trendy: Short cab ride from the Hyatt. May also be able to take the light rail.

If you want something which is very typical TX:

Y.O. Ranch
214-744-3287
Upscale Tex-Mex featuring steak and game

Shopping:

Both of the above areas have a variety of shopping areas, but some others you may wish to see.

Original Neiman Marcus: Short walk from the Hyatt or short cab ride. Worth looking at as it has a little of everything.

Galleria: Bit of a trip but you won't ever have to leave. Has Ice Skating rink and every imaginable type of store / restaurant you could want. Probably a 45 minute cab ride from downtown depending on the time of day and day of week you go. Best to go on weekend or after 6 at night as traffic will be less then.

Enjoy.
