Counting Down to Nowhere to Hide

What with the moving, the renovations, and everything else that interrupts routine, I neglected the calendar. I really have to get my white board mounted on my office wall. It's less than a month to the release of my next book, "NOWHERE TO HIDE" from The Wild Rose Press. I have a million things to do. Sorry if this post is interrupted, but I've got to dash for a bit. While I'm gone, maybe you can poke around the Coming Soon link on my website. I'll be back as soon as I can.

......

Oh, Good. Hi, everyone!

Terry's off running errands and she left her computer on. My name's Colleen McDonald, and I'm going to sneak in for a bit. Don't say anything to her, okay?

Still time to make a free donation

I'll be heading out to the Pike's Peak Writer's Conference later this week, and taking the opportunity to hook up with two of my children. If you're not aware of it, one of my daughters is raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society via Team in Training. She's a trainer AND is going to run a half ironman, which never ceases to amaze me. More details and links here. At any rate, I promised her I'd kick in an extra fifty cents for every short story sold until May 1st. All you have to do is forward confirmation of your purchase to my email address. My two newest releases, Hurricane Breeze (Champagne Miniature Rose) and Second Chance Rose (Last Rose of Summer Rosette) might be good places to start. Both are on the WRP best-seller lists. View all my Wild Rose Press titles here.

(And, you can buy them from any participating venue. I'm not reducing my donation if you find them at Fictionwise or AllRomance ebooks. )

New Reviews

Yesterday I found two reviews for Rose Petals -- Coffee Time reviewed the entire anthology, and Cocktail Reviews reviewed my contribution, Second Chance Rose. Wilga at Cocktail Reviews said:

Here is my favourite line:

…who’d want a portrait of a forty-two year old woman with boring brown eyes and plain brown hair with strands of grey popping out like dandelions?

I saw and felt so much more than these words actually said. Her insecurity, low self-esteem; the image she has of herself as not worthy for sketching. The mention of dandelions—akin to weeds—brings a richness to that sentence; that the grey is growing fast these days. Excellent and touching, in my opinion.

Rose finds the past repeating itself, but wonders how this could be so. After all, hadn’t she “had her turn” at the game of love with Doug?

A touching story that I enjoyed very much. I wish it had been longer.

For May, I'm giving away one of my short stories. Visit my website for details. Terry www.terryodell.com
