Love, Lilies & the Unbroken Straw reviewed by LASR

My latest Hoofbeats & Heartstrings horse rescue romance novel just got a 5-book rating from Long and Short Romance Reviews! Check out what they had to say:

"Christabel Wilde’s life has just turned upside-down. With little more than the clothes on her back and her newly rescued Chihuahua tucked under her arm, she makes a pledge to start over and applies for a job as a groom at a horse rescue farm. Nevermind that she’s never been up close to a horse before, she has a bigger secret to hide. A mysterious gift her new neighbor, Dr. Declan Armstrong, is determined to uncover. When the irresistible veterinarian volunteers to give her riding lessons, Christabel knows it could be the end of her secret. With the Easter holiday approaching, she tries to remember that sometimes what looks like the end is really a new beginning.

Christabel was worried something was wrong with her health, but then she knocked over a snowy white Chihuahua on a lonely country road. As soon as she touched the little dog her confusion cleared and she knew she’d been given a gift. She packed her belongings and moved away from all she knew to take a new direction in life.

She takes a job at a horse rescue farm but keeps her gift secret. Most of the people on the farm wonder why such a novice with horses would want to work as a groom. After the first few days Christabel knows she’s made the right choice; she feels a natural empathy with the horses and can’t imagine doing any other job. Her happiness is enhanced by the attraction she feels for Declan, the resident vet.

Declan is instantly fascinated by Christabel, but he senses she is hiding something. He teaches her to ride and they grow closer. Their feelings for each other grow stronger, but neither is willing to admit this. Christabel knows she cannot give her love to Declan until she has told him her secret, but she is afraid he will treat her revelation with scorn.

Love, Lilies, and the Unbroken Straw is a sweet, sensitive story which shows the full range of Christabel’s feelings for her amazing gift, the horses and most of all Declan. Christabel is a warm, vibrant woman who at first appears to be shy and retiring, but Declan brings out the best in her. As their relationship develops she shows the strength she usually hides from the world. The Yellow Rose of Texas Equine Rescue Center provides a warm, comfortable backdrop to the triangle of love developing between Christabel, Declan and the horses in need of their help.

Although the setting is Texas with its hot summers, I would recommend this book be read beside a warm fire with a cup of hot chocolate on the table within easy reach. It’s the type of story which leaves a satisfied, warm feeling inside so it’s essential to find a comfortable place to settle before starting to read
Love, Lilies, and the Unbroken Straw."

Do You Hear What I Hear? A Recommended Read at CKsS Kwips and Kritiques

Do You Hear What I Hear?, Hoofbeats & Heartstrings Book One
A Recommended Read at CK2S Kwips and Kritiques

Well I got a wonderful Christmas gift yesterday, all wrapped up in a nice email from the review team at CK2S Kwips and Kritiques. My new paranormal romance from The Wild Rose Press, Do You Hear What I Hear?, got a 5/5 rating. Best of all, out of the 45 books they reviewed this month, it was picked as one of only 8 Recommended Reads for the month of December. Looks like Santa came early!

Here is a sneak peek at the review:
I was totally charmed by this book from the first page. Teri Wilson creates a wonderful slate of characters, human, canine and equine, that grab your heart and won’t let go. Do You Hear What I Hear? was well developed and the perfect reading choice for the holiday season when we all need a break from the hustle and bustle and long to curl up in a soft corner with a steaming cup of cocoa and a heartwarming read. I loved the unique career that Simone had developed for herself and enjoyed all the scenes about the horse rescue ranch. While part of a series, this book stands alone.

Do You Hear What I Hear - Night Owl Romance Reviewer's Top Pick!

Great news! My Faery Rose, Do You Hear What I Hear?, has been named a Night Owl Romance Reviewer's Top Pick! Check out this great review:

"Ms. Wilson has penned a wonderful story. I loved how the author came up with the creative storyline of Simone being able to communicate with animals and I was truly heartbroken with how she was treated by most people because of her special gift. I fell in love with Simone not only because of her talent with animals, but also how she was the perfect compliment for Chet. I absolutely adored the choice of names chosen for all the animals, especially the horses. I enjoyed this story so much I just couldn’t put it down. Ms. Wilson wrote every detail with a purpose and in the end, she told a beautiful story of love between humans and animals. I highly recommend this story and eagerly look forward to reading more from this author." Score: 5/5

Great review from ParanormalRomance.org!

I just got a great review from ParaNormalRomance.org for my new release Do You Hear What I Hear, Book One in my Hoofbeats & Heartstrings series. Do You Hear What I Hear was released a week ago today and has been on the Wild Rose Press bestseller list ever since. For more information, come see me at http://www.teriwilson.net/.

Now check out this great review!

"a lovely G-rated romance!"

Simone Littleton was considered mainly a quack by all the trainers at the racetrack. Being an Equine Massage Therapist, she used her skills along with a combination of massage oils and herbs to calm down even the most stressed- out horse. Her personal life was complicated and men usually didn't like her kind of complicated. While she did work for racer Trent Jones, everyone else laughed at her constantly.

Chet Wallace owned racehorses and was not looking for anything but a winning horse. No time for anything else but training and he is not about to put up with the "Crazy Horse Lady" tending to his prized horses. His dog, Pollock, has other ideas.

You see, Simone's little secret is that she can talk to animals. It has made her the laughing-stock of the track and has not been helpful in getting new clients. When Chet yells at her in front of everyone for not telling him her secret, it breaks her heart. The path to Simone's heart is through her work with horses and the path to Chet's is the same. Will they forgive and forget? You can never trust a scheming Jack Russell Terrier.

This book is part 1 of a series titled Hoofbeats and Heartstrings. Let's hope it is a long-lived series because this book is G rated, and a lovely story!

First review for Do You Hear What I Hear...

Hi all! Well, I've already starting counting down the minutes until this Friday, Nov. 7th, when my Faery Rose holiday novel Do You Hear What I Hear is released. And, just in the nick of time, I got my first review. Hear what the critics are saying:

I just finished reading Teri Wilson's latest novel, Do You Hear What I Hear, Book One of her new Hoofbeats and Heartstrings Series, and I really hated for it to end. It felt as though the story was just beginning and I am excited to know it has! Any book that would combine horses with aromatherapy would naturally attract my attention. But then Teri added another element I wasn't so certain about - communicating with animals. As a Christian I was hesitant about this topic, and yet Teri not only pulled this off beautifully but how she shares this opens the readers eyes to so many possibilities and miracles. With the flick of her pen...or her keyboard, Teri Wilson shares one of the most important events in history and the impossibility of it from a human perspective all the while opening the readers eyes to other miracles abounding in the world today. Using horses, aromatherapy and a love story Teri weaves a tale that is more than a novel, more than a love story, it is THE love story in human history revealed. Read this book, you won't regret it! ~Dr. Kim Bloomer, veterinary naturopath, author, and host of Animal Talk Naturally

Christmas in April!

Ooooh! Merry Christmas to me ~ my holiday romance Do You Hear What I Hear? was contracted this week by The Wild Rose Press. It is my first full-length novel and I couldn't be more thrilled.

The best news is it will be part of a series called Hoofbeats and Heartstrings, a series of romance novels celebrating love, miracles and the beauty of horses. And you know... there will be a hunky cowboy in each and every one!

Come visit me at http://www.teriwilson.net/ to learn more.

In the meantime, here is a small taste of what's to come this year in your Christmas stocking:

Do You Hear What I Hear?, a Faery Rose Hoofbeats & Heartstrings Romance by Teri Wilson

As a child, Simone Doolittle adores the European folktale that animals are given the gift of speech at midnight on Christmas Eve. She makes a wish to talk to animals “forever and ever” and, when her pet Dalmatian asks her for a biscuit, she discovers her wish has been granted. Now Simone is all grown up and she uses her unique gift to rehabilitate unwanted horses. When race horse trainer Chet Wallace rolls into San Antonio, with chocolate eyes and dimples blazing beneath his black Stetson, romantic sparks fly. He is immediately drawn to the beautiful woman who has a mesmerizing affect on both his horses and his dog, but his less than enthusiastic response to Simone’s claims threatens their budding romance. It takes a scheming Jack Russell terrier and a dose of Christmas magic to convince Chet she just may be telling the truth.
